What’s the future for buy-to-let landlords?

Following the recent changes to additional stamp duty and the loss of tax relief for buy-to-let landlords, there is growing concern that further changes are afoot which will impact on the market, and that is why Andrews Property Group will be hosting a panel debate next week asking what the landlords of tomorrow can expect from 2016 and beyond.
The property debate, which will take place on Thursday 26th May, will offer landlords a chance to question a panel of experts on Brexit, taxation and what the best buys on buy-to-let mortgage products on the market currently are.
The event, which will be held in partnership with tax specialists Smith & Williamson, will include a panel of buy-to-let experts, including David Westgate, Paul Bumford and Michael Robson - all of Andrews Property Group.
The panel debate, which will be held at The Somerdale Pavilion in Keynsham, Bristol, will also be live streamed online at 7pm for those unable to attend in person.
Speaking ahead of the event, David Westgate, managing director at Andrews Letting & Management, commented: “The buy to let landscape is constantly evolving and this last year has seen particular change.  This can understandably leave landlords feeling unsettled.  When coupled with uncertainty around the UK’s future in Europe and the impact that a possible exit from the EU could have on the lettings market, we’re finding that landlords are faced with a myriad of questions that our expert panel will be well placed to provide guidance on.
“Karen Press from Smith & Williamson, the accountancy, investment management and tax group, is a leading authority on taxation issues for landlords and I feel sure that our audience, whether with us in person or joining us via the live streaming, will find this to be both a lively and beneficial debate.”
Anyone interested in attending in person or watching the debate via the live streaming is asked to pre-register by clicking here.
